Mizuno Wave Alchemy 5

The new Alchemy features the Mizuno's smoothride technology. SmoothRide™ engineered Composite Double Fan-Shaped Wave™ that utilizes a framework of pebax for the uniform dispersion of shock with polyester inserts to provide an impact zone with optimal cushioning properties. The end result is a Wave that provides a perfect blend of control and cushioning with a great heel-to-toe transition for the runner with low-arched flexible feet. The redesigned composite Double Fan-Shaped Wave™ provides a smooth transition by reducing the shock vibration inherent to running. Designed to provide moderate motion control, a smooth transition, and exceptional cushioning in a lightweight package for the runner with medium to low, flexible arches.

Fit, cushioning and support all feel good to me. The shape is similar to other Mizuno shoes I’ve had, hope they last long enough...

Alchemy sits right on the cusp between stability and MC. Which has less medial support than the Brooks Addiction (not Adrenaline) but feels very stable because of the firm heel. It feels much faster than other comparably stable shoes not only because of the firm heel but also because of the light weight, unsloppy fit, and great heel to toe transition

The cushioning is firm only on the forefoot plus the heel is very plush

What a great shoe. It seems to me that it is at once more stable and more flexible, smoother, The transition from stable heel to nicely cushioned forefoot is remarkable

Alchemy's feel real nice. The upper is a snugger fit (I think of it as a Mizuno Wave Rider fit) than either of those

It is a stability shoe bordering on motion control : Its alot more controlling than the nirvana and less then the inspire. Alchemy is more medially controlling, higher arch, firmer ride.
